About the role#
Zurich Canada is hiring an Operations Intern to support the Zurich Resilience Solutions Operations team. This 6-month internship is available on a part-time (minimum 22.5 hours per week) or full-time (37.5 hours per week) basis. You will work under direct supervision, gaining experience in data analysis, reporting, process documentation, and system administration alongside experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operational activities and business initiatives.
- Collect, validate, cleanse, and analyze data using Excel, Power BI, and other business systems.
- Maintain accurate records for customers, policies, service requests, and assignments in the Global Risk Engineering Workstation (GREW).
- Monitor shared inboxes, gather missing information, and coordinate follow-ups.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of service requests and assignments.
- Support recurring and ad hoc reporting on metrics like revenue, lead-time, utilization, and service delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Risk Engineering, Underwriting, and Climate.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or college program, ideally entering your 3rd or 4th year.
- Preferred fields of study include Business Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, Risk Management, or Insurance.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data organization and analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfort working with business systems and standardized processes.
- Experience with, or interest in learning, Power BI and data-visualization tools.
- Ability to document processes and create training materials.
- Previous experience in operations, engineering, or data analytics is an asset.
