About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers an internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside senior technicians in a shop environment. This role is part-time and operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction equipment, and agricultural machinery.
- Learn to respond to customer needs in a supportive and timely manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine mechanics, construction equipment mechanics, agricultural equipment mechanics, or a related field.
- A record of good grades and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and push or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
- Completion of a pre-employment drug test, as this role is safety-sensitive.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Ada, Minnesota.
- Work is on-site.
- The starting wage is $21.00 per hour.
