About the role#
Young Life Military offers a long-term internship for those who want to serve and grow in their walk with Christ. You will work alongside an experienced staff member at a U.S. military installation. This role focuses on relational ministry, where you will spend time with teens to build community and model your faith. You will lead and oversee the Club Beyond program, which is outreach-oriented and ecumenical.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with supervising staff using team agenda tools.
- Lead and conduct Club Beyond club and small group ministry.
- Develop a 90-day personal growth plan to foster your spiritual life.
- Attend Chapel on installation when you are in the community.
- Participate in volunteer leader meetings and mentor one volunteer weekly.
- Learn to recruit and train new leaders to build a team.
- Assist with outreach to unchurched teens and lead volunteers for middle and high school ministry.
- Discuss financial support with your supervisor and send monthly updates to your donor partners.
What you'll need#
- You must have graduated high school at least 2 years ago.
- A deep love for Christ and for teens.
- Strong initiative and a teachable heart.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Experience or skills in small event planning.
- Willingness to raise a portion of your budget through personal support.
- Commitment to a relational ministry approach and an energetic attitude.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Washington.
- The term is rolling.
- You are responsible for raising your salary, which ranges from $1,160 to $4,000 depending on the specific location and duration of your service.
