About the role#
Young Life Military offers a long-term internship for those who want to serve and grow in their faith. You will work alongside an experienced staff person at a military installation. The role focuses on incarnational ministry, where you build relationships with teens to share the message of Christ. You will help lead the Club Beyond program, which is outreach-oriented and ecumenically focused.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with your supervisor to review progress and training tools.
- Participate in leading Club Beyond club meetings and small group ministries.
- Create a 90-day personal growth plan to foster your spiritual life.
- Attend Chapel on the installation and participate in volunteer leader meetings.
- Meet weekly with a volunteer to support their involvement in the ministry.
- Learn to recruit and train new leaders while building a diverse leadership team.
- Assist with community outreach to unchurched teens and provide discipleship for believing teens.
- Lead and equip volunteers for middle and high school youth ministry.
- Communicate monthly updates to your personal donor partners.
- Discuss the process of raising financial support with your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- High school graduation at least two years prior to the start date.
- A deep love for Christ and for lost teens.
- Strong initiative and an energetic personality.
- Ability to communicate well.
- A teachable heart.
- Skills in small event planning.
- Commitment to a relational ministry approach.
- Willingness to raise part of your budget through personal support.

- This role is based in Kansas, United States.
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- The term is rolling.
- You must be willing to raise a portion of your salary, ranging from $1,160 to $4,000 depending on the specific location and duration.
