You will work alongside Flight Software and Integration & Test engineers to command, monitor, and validate space vehicles. This is a hands-on position involving embedded Linux systems, automated test infrastructure, and hardware-in-the-loop environments. You will participate in the full engineering loop, from writing code and running it against hardware to debugging failures and refining solutions.
What you'll do#
- Develop and test software for spacecraft flight, vehicle integration, and automated testing.
- Write code in Python, C, C++, or Bash to interact with embedded systems and hardware.
- Build tools to command, monitor, and configure spacecraft subsystems.
- Participate in Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) testing.
- Connect software to hardware interfaces, networks, telemetry streams, and simulators.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues across software, operating systems, and hardware using logs, telemetry, and test equipment.
- Create automated tests to verify spacecraft functionality.
- Support our test-like-you-fly philosophy by improving test environments.
- Execute unit and integration tests.
- Participate in design discussions and code reviews.
- Collaborate with systems, electrical, and test engineers to turn requirements into working solutions.
- Use Git, GitLab, and CI/CD workflows.
- Document your progress, including successes, failures, and technical lessons.

- Experience with automated testing, GitLab CI/CD, CMake, or Docker.
- Familiarity with debuggers, packet captures, logic analyzers, or oscilloscopes.
- Experience or interest in spacecraft, aerospace, or safety-critical systems.
- Ability to work in lab or system integration environments.
- An active Secret Clearance.
Location & details#
