About the role#
Worthington Steel is seeking a Welding Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience by completing projects that apply your field of study to real-world manufacturing applications. You will work alongside experienced professionals who provide guidance and mentorship throughout the program.
What you'll do#
- Participate in various Welding Engineering projects.
- Apply your academic knowledge to manufacturing challenges.
- Work in both the office and on the plant floor.
- Collaborate with team members across the organization.
What you'll need#
- Current major in Welding Engineering.
- Completion of your sophomore year by the summer of 2027.
- An interest in manufacturing and laser welding.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership characteristics and the ability to work well within a team.
- Willingness to follow the company philosophy of treating others as you want to be treated.
- Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.

- Location: Monroe, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 17 to August 13).
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
- Requirements: All candidates must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
