    About the role#

    World Relief is seeking an Integration Support Intern to assist our Cultural Integration Specialist. This role focuses on supporting preliterate Afghan women as they work toward stability. You will gain experience in how resettlement agencies operate and how educational programming meets the needs of refugees. This position is unpaid, though university credit may be available with approval. Please note that this role is open to female-presenting applicants only to respect the cultural values of the population served.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with client recruitment, eligibility screening, and enrollment.
    • Work alongside the Integration Specialist to lead online integration classes.
    • Take attendance, assess gains, and document client progress toward goals.
    • Make phone calls to clients as needed.
    • Compile learning materials and resources for participants.
    • Maintain accurate and organized case files.

    What you'll need#

    • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto.
    • Strong technical skills in Zoom, Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
    • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.
    • Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:45 am to 11:45 am.
    • Currently pursuing studies in Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, Health Administration, Communications, or a related field.

    • This is a hybrid position based in Sacramento, California.
    • This is an unpaid internship.
    • Applicants must pass a criminal background check.
