About the role#
World Relief Sacramento is looking for an English Conversation Partners Intern to support our education outreach. You will help immigrants improve their English communication skills by providing direct conversation practice. This role involves working with the Education team and the regional volunteer coordinator to manage program logistics and support volunteers. You will gain experience in cross-cultural engagement and learn about the integration needs of refugees.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct, in-person support to conversation partners during weekly sessions.
- Assist the regional volunteer coordinator with client intake, volunteer matching, and scheduling.
- Serve as a point of contact for routine volunteer questions.
- Track participation, attendance, and program outcomes using established reporting systems.
- Maintain and organize educational resources, attendance records, and program documentation.
- Complete all required World Relief training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Strong digital literacy skills and familiarity with the MS Suite.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- A valid US Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.
- Ability to acknowledge the World Relief faith statement.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote).
- Commitment: 10 hours per week.
- Compensation: Unpaid internship (university credit may be available).
- Majors: English, Psychology, Sociology, Communications, or International Relations.
