About the role#
The Sports Operations Intern will assist in the frontline execution, guest relations, and logistical delivery of summer camps, leagues, tournaments, and open-play events. This role provides hands-on experience in high-volume sports venue management, database coordination, and guest service within a resort environment.
What you'll do#
- Lead the physical staging, setup, and teardown of all match-day field configurations, including moving athletic equipment.
- Execute daily tournament and camp operations, including participant check-ins, credential distribution, and roster verification.
- Serve as a visible guest relations point of contact at entry gates, information hubs, and spectator spaces.
- Manage the general sports division inquiry inbox, vetting and routing incoming communications from organizers and leagues.
- Review registration reports and troubleshoot basic transaction issues using Bond, Stripe, and Sigma platform systems.
- Support summer day camp tracks, assisting with drop-offs, on-field logistics, and policy compliance.
- Conduct pre-event safety audits and coordinate with internal support partners including facilities, janitorial, and security teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or graduate program in Sport Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
- High-level familiarity with multi-sport rules and dimensions, specifically for soccer, flag football, or field sports.
- Ability to lift and move athletic equipment up to 50 pounds waist-high.
- Capacity to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and maintain a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Prior experience in campus recreation, youth camp operations, athletic event hosting, or volunteer tournament execution is preferred.
- Current First Aid, CPR, or AED certification is preferred.
