About the role#
The Commercial Banking internship at Wintrust Financial Corporation offers an opportunity to build a professional network and develop technical skills in a credit analyst role. You will work alongside colleagues to meet business objectives and contribute to the commercial banking team. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Learn the approval process for commercial loans.
- Analyze credit and financial information for businesses and individuals to determine risk.
- Generate and interpret financial ratios to evaluate an applicant's financial condition.
- Spread balance sheets and income statements using financial statement spreading software.
- Perform collateral analysis for current and prospective customers.
- Underwrite and present a full Credit Approval Presentation for annual reviews and renewals.
- Participate in intern program activities, community service projects, and professional development sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a U.S. college or university, with preference for students entering their senior year.
- A concentration in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and a willingness to learn new information.
- Experience in leadership, extracurricular activities, or volunteering.
- Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site internship located in Denver, Colorado.
- The program runs for 12 weeks from May through August 2027.
- The role is full-time at 40 hours per week.
