About the role#
The Accounting Internship at Windquest Group provides a foundation in corporate accounting through hands-on experience across a diverse portfolio of businesses. You will work alongside experienced professionals to build technical skills and business acumen. This position is intended to last approximately one year, allowing for increasing responsibility and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger review, and financial reporting.
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable by processing invoices, vendor payments, and customer billings.
- Participate in projects that improve financial processes and internal systems.
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis across multiple portfolio companies.
- Support annual 1099 preparation and tax reporting activities.
- Prepare selected financial reports and perform ad hoc projects as assigned.
- Participate in office administration duties.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at least part-time at an accredited four-year institution with related coursework in accounting.
- Previous experience or coursework with bookkeeping duties and computer applications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and be self-directed.
- High attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy.
- Interest in pursuing a long-term career in accounting.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Physical ability to open file drawers, lift or transport boxes of approximately 30 pounds, stoop, bend, and climb steps and stairs.
