About the role#
The Accounting Internship at Windquest Group provides a foundation in corporate accounting through hands-on experience across a diverse portfolio of businesses. Interns work alongside experienced professionals to support financial operations and contribute to various accounting projects. This role is intended to last approximately one year to allow for professional development and increasing responsibility.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger review.
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions by processing invoices, vendor payments, and customer billings.
- Prepare selected financial reports and assist with financial analysis across portfolio companies.
- Participate in projects aimed at improving financial processes and internal systems.
- Support annual 1099 preparation and tax reporting activities.
- Perform ad hoc projects and office administration duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a part-time college student in an accredited four-year institution.
- Completed college coursework in accounting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain high levels of confidentiality.
- Ability to lift or transport boxes of approximately 30 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, and climbing stairs.
