About the role#
WilkinGuttenplan is hiring a paid M&A Advisory Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This role focuses on active deal support, including financial due diligence, tax due diligence, and business valuation. You will work directly with partners and senior staff, gaining exposure to both buy-side and sell-side transactions. The position is based in East Brunswick, New Jersey, and follows a hybrid work model.
What you'll do#
- Assist with Quality of Earnings (QoE) analyses, working capital assessments, and normalized EBITDA adjustments.
- Support financial and tax due diligence by analyzing client financials, identifying risks, and preparing findings.
- Extract, clean, transform, and analyze large data sets from client ERP and accounting systems.
- Build and maintain financial models, including historical analysis, projections, sensitivity scenarios, and purchase price accounting support.
- Review and summarize key deal documents such as letters of intent, asset or stock purchase agreements, earn-out provisions, employment agreements, and leases.
What you'll need#
- Rising junior or current junior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or a closely related analytical field.
- Strong academic performance and a clear interest in M&A, valuation, or transaction advisory.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, Power Query, lookups, and basic modeling.
- Demonstrated ability or interest in using AI tools to enhance analytical work.
- High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and professional skepticism.
