About the role#
The Youth Recovery CT (YRCT) undergraduate internship offers an opportunity to support initiatives focused on youth recovery. This role involves providing input on engagement strategies for young people in recovery and contributing to the overall mission of the program.
What you'll do#
- Perform administrative duties to support YRCT grantees.
- Complete training as a SMART Recovery facilitator and cofacilitate meetings.
- Represent YRCT at community events to promote the initiative.
- Assist with updates to the YRCT website.
- Attend the virtual Intern Seminar held twice a month on Fridays from 10am to 12pm.
- Complete a mandatory three-day in-person orientation in Bristol.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 2-4 year higher education program with a major in social work, psychology, human resources, public health, sociology, or a related human services field.
- Lived experience or familiarity with the recovery community.
- Insight into current trends regarding young people in recovery.
- Experience using social media platforms to promote events and initiatives.
- Ability to maintain a consistent attendance schedule throughout the internship, including periods outside of the standard school vacation calendar.
