About the role#
Wheeler Health offers a single annual placement within its Grants Department. This role is for students who want to work in healthcare or social services without providing direct client services. You will receive training and mentoring from the Senior Director of Grants throughout the full grant cycle. This position involves collaborating with program leaders and senior leadership across the agency.
What you'll do#
- Search for funding opportunities to meet agency and program needs.
- Review and summarize funding opportunities such as RFPs and NOFOs.
- Develop grant reports and gather necessary attachments for proposals.
- Create data charts, figures, and graphs in Excel to support proposals and reports.
- Write smaller grant proposals for community, private, or corporate funding.
- Request and analyze program data for use in grant documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s program for social work, public health, public administration, or a relevant field.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of data analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Planner is helpful but not required.

- This role is located in Bristol, Connecticut.
- This is an on-site position. You must be able to commute to the office.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
