About the role#
This paid, full-time internship offers firsthand experience within the insurance industry. Over the course of ten weeks, you will work alongside professionals to learn about policy administration, regulatory requirements, and the insurance value chain. The program includes classroom training, a formal mentorship, and a group project, providing a clear path to develop your professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily operational tasks including document processing, policy issuance, and record maintenance.
- Review insurance applications and forms for accuracy and completeness.
- Process endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
- Identify data inconsistencies and perform quality assurance checks.
- Generate reports to support the underwriting, claims, and compliance teams.
- Collaborate with various departments to resolve operational issues and answer internal inquiries.
- Document and update standard operating procedures and process maps.
- Shadow team members to understand cross-functional operations.
- Organize and retrieve documentation to help prepare for internal and external audits.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year college or university pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree.
- A minimum GPA of 3.2.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Technical proficiency and digital literacy.
- Leadership experience through work, community service, athletics, or clubs is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Berkeley Heights, New Jersey.
- Schedule: On-site 4 days a week.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7th to August 13th).
- Compensation: $25 per hour.
