This Avionics Internship is an approved SkillBridge program designed exclusively for transitioning military service members during their final 180 days of active-duty service. Participants gain hands-on civilian experience within an FAA-certified repair station, working on corporate aircraft such as Gulfstream, Dassault Falcon, King Air, Cessna, Piper, and Pilatus. Interns work up to 40 hours per week alongside experienced technicians to develop skills in installation, troubleshooting, and aircraft repair. Please note that this program does not guarantee a full-time job offer upon completion.
What you'll do#
- Learn and assist with routine avionics installations and repairs on general aviation aircraft.
- Ensure proper care of customer property throughout all phases of work.
- Accurately complete required paperwork and work order details in the Corridor system.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Meet or beat flat rates for assigned tasks.
- Follow safety procedures and utilize support equipment safely.
What you'll need#
- Eligibility for the Department of Defense SkillBridge program.
- Preferred two years of experience in general or military aviation avionics or general electronics.
- Advanced troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
- FCC Certification is preferred.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Ability to obtain an airport-issued security badge.
- Command approval for participation, with documentation provided at least 10 business days prior to the start date.
Location & details#
- Location: Boise, Idaho.
- Modality: On-site in an aircraft hangar environment.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Physical requirements: Ability to climb, bend, crawl, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull. Must be capable of working at heights and lifting up to 50 pounds (25 pounds overhead).
