This SkillBridge internship is designed for transitioning service members to gain civilian work experience during their final 180 days of active-duty service. Participants work up to 40 hours per week in an FAA-certified repair station, receiving hands-on training from experienced technicians on aircraft including Gulfstream, Dassault Falcon, King Air, Cessna, Piper, and Pilatus. Please note that this program is unpaid, as participants continue to receive military compensation and benefits. Participation requires command approval and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, as well as the ability to obtain an airport-issued security badge.
What you'll do#
- Perform and assist with routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft.
- Ensure proper care of customer property throughout all phases of work.
- Accurately complete required paperwork and work order details in the Corridor system.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and utilize support equipment correctly.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of two years of experience in general or military aircraft maintenance.
- Advanced troubleshooting abilities and broad knowledge of aircraft systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Airframe & Powerplant certifications are highly preferred, as is active progress toward obtaining these certifications within six months of the start date.
- Basic sheet metal or electrical skills are considered a plus.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including climbing, bending, crawling, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, and pulling, as well as lifting up to 50 pounds.

- Modality: On-site in an aircraft hangar environment.
- Commitment: Full-time, rolling term.
