This SkillBridge internship is designed for transitioning military service members to gain civilian work experience during their final 180 days of active-duty service. Participants work up to 40 hours per week in an FAA-certified repair station, receiving hands-on training from experienced structures technicians. This program focuses on developing skills in structural inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair on corporate aircraft such as Gulfstream, Dassault Falcon, King Air, Cessna, Piper, and Pilatus. Please note that this is an unpaid internship for active-duty personnel, and completion does not guarantee a full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft.
- Execute structural repairs and modifications.
- Ensure proper care of customer property throughout all phases of work.
- Accurately complete required paperwork and work order details in the Corridor system.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow safety procedures and utilize support equipment safely.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of two years of experience in general or military aviation.
- Minimum of two years of experience performing structural repairs and modifications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Ability to obtain an airport-issued security badge.
- Command approval for participation, provided at least 10 business days prior to the start date.
- Airframe certification is preferred.
- Physical ability to climb, bend, crawl, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull, as well as work at heights and lift up to 50 pounds.

- Location: Boise, Idaho.
- Work Modality: On-site in an aircraft hangar environment.
- Commitment: Full-time (up to 40 hours per week).
