About the role#
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-op to support our engineering team in Sugar Land. You will work on the design and development of mechanical equipment and customer-specific solutions. This role offers hands-on experience through direct involvement in product design, engineering analysis, and manufacturing support. You will work alongside experienced engineers to contribute to real customer projects and gain exposure to the full product lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Analyze customer specifications and help develop solutions that meet industry standards.
- Support Engineering department projects and finish assignments within deadlines.
- Collaborate with Drafting, Sales, and Estimating teams.
- Work cross-functionally with Research and Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Control.
- Assist in performing design and safety calculations.
- Support Engineering documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current Junior or Senior status in a bachelor’s degree program for mechanical engineering at an ABET-accredited university.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new software, including Welker ERP software.
- Familiarity with mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Availability to begin the co-op in Fall 2026.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
