This summer internship provides exposure to the end-to-end supply chain operations at Electric Machinery, a division of WEG. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain insight into procurement, logistics, and inventory management. This position is project-oriented, requiring you to manage your own schedules and present a final project that demonstrates the value contributed to the organization.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with various departments to support Sourcing, Procurement, and Inventory Control functions.
- Assist with projects focused on inventory optimization, such as analyzing slow-moving stock, auditing safety stock levels, and calculating carrying costs.
- Identify root causes of obsolescence and propose data-driven strategies to improve warehouse efficiency and cash flow.
- Manage project timelines to ensure deliverables are completed within the required timeframe.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student with junior status or higher, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Finance, or Business Administration.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of SAP, LEAN, or Continuous Improvement practices.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through student groups, volunteer work, or other extracurricular activities.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
