About the role#
Wayside Youth & Family Support Network offers clinical internship opportunities for graduate students in the Metro West area. This role provides hands-on experience in community-based interventions, including intensive care coordination, mobile crisis intervention, and in-home therapy. Interns work with families facing various challenges, using strength-based models to provide support in office, home, and community settings. This is a paid position for final-year Master level students.
What you'll do#
- Perform intakes and clinical assessments.
- Develop and manage individual care and treatment plans.
- Provide follow-up care and ongoing treatment for individuals and families.
- Coordinate care by connecting clients with necessary services and resources.
- Collaborate with diverse systems and providers to support client needs.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and the intern seminar.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a second or final year Master level student in Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working in various environments, including offices, private homes, and community meetings.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for community travel.
- Availability for at least 20 hours per week, including two evenings.
- A background in health and human services is preferred.
- Ability to pass a CORI background check and complete pre-service orientation.
