    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work with the Systems Engineering team to help validate the performance of the Waymo Driver. This role focuses on behavior testing, specifically regarding fault protection and remote assistance.

    What you'll do#

    • Design and implement test plans, metrics, and simulated scenarios for off-nominal situations.
    • Build dashboards to monitor, visualize, and analyze fault rates across the autonomous fleet.
    • Support the Verification and Validation (V&V) of fault protection and remote assistance behaviors.
    • Create automated pipelines using Python and SQL to update, version, and validate test coverage for safety-critical scenarios.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Master's program in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
    • Experience with data analysis and modeling using Python and SQL.
    • Enthusiasm for understanding complex systems and their components.
    • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technology and systems engineering principles is preferred.

    • Compensation: $70 per hour.
