About the role#
As a Tech Intern, you will work alongside a qualified mentor to develop the skills needed to become a Caterpillar Technician. This program focuses on building expertise in engine and machinery maintenance through hands-on experience.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Caterpillar engines and machinery.
- Use hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, laptops, diagnostic software, cranes, and rigging equipment.
- Work with engines, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Follow service manuals and technical guidelines to ensure repairs meet Caterpillar standards.
- Document all service and repair activities.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.
- Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- A GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Ability to arrange housing near the school campus and the local Warren CAT location if needed.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Completion of the Work Steps assessment.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 75 pounds.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, paid, full-time internship located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- The role requires up to 5% travel.
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
