About the role#
The Student Financial Services Specialist works within the Financial Aid Department at Warner University. This role focuses on financial aid packaging, billing, and providing guidance to students and parents regarding financing options. You will report to the Director of Financial Aid and work during normal office hours, with additional time required for university events.
What you'll do#
- Oversee financial aid processes for new and returning students.
- Determine eligibility and award federal, state, and institutional funds while following regulatory and audit requirements.
- Advise students and parents on payment plan options.
- Provide customer service regarding processing and packaging issues.
- Respond to correspondence and answer routine questions.
- Assist with university orientation and Royal Registration activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to support recruitment and retention efforts.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in financial aid within higher education, including knowledge of regulations and awarding processes.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to organize multiple tasks.
- High interpersonal skills for handling confidential documentation and situations.
- Proficiency with computer software, specifically Windows applications.
- Commitment to a Christian lifestyle and support for the mission, vision, and core values of Warner University.
