About the role#
The Diesel Technician Intern works alongside the Service Manager and experienced technicians to maintain diesel equipment. You will assist with inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs. This role focuses on learning how to correct vehicle deficiencies, perform adjustments, and document service records. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Conduct vehicle inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn or damaged parts.
- Perform preventive maintenance and winterization procedures.
- Install component upgrades and control corrosion.
- Complete basic repairs based on your ability under mentor oversight.
- Assist mentors with major repairs.
- Test engine, safety, and combustion control standards to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Keep shop equipment running by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and managing supplies.
- Participate in educational opportunities to update your technical knowledge.
- Adhere to work schedules and uphold company ethical standards.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to use mechanical inspection tools and tooling.
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to work.
- Dependability and excellent verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of supply management, inventory control, and technical documentation.

- Pay: $28 to $31 per hour.
- Modality: On-site.
