About the role#
The Diesel Technician Intern works with the Service Manager and experienced technicians to maintain diesel equipment. You will assist with inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs. This is a full-time, paid position based in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
What you'll do#
- Inspect vehicles and run diagnostic tests to identify worn or damaged parts.
- Complete preventive maintenance schedules, winterization, and corrosion control.
- Install component and part upgrades.
- Perform basic repairs with mentor oversight and assist with major repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Ensure shop equipment remains operational by following instructions and troubleshooting breakdowns.
- Comply with federal and state vehicle safety and emission standards.
- Participate in educational opportunities to update your technical knowledge.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- A valid driver license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency with mechanical inspection tools and general tooling.
- Technical understanding and strong attention to detail.
- Dependability and thoroughness in your work.
- Good verbal communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of inventory and supply management.
Location & details#
- Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota.
- Schedule: Full-time, rolling term.
- Compensation: $28 - $31 per hour.
