About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy while providing clinical and retail services to customers. You will work closely with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure the pharmacy runs efficiently, adheres to regulatory standards, and provides a positive experience for every patient. This role involves a blend of direct patient care, operational management, and community engagement.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services, including counseling patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and contraindications.
- Manage the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Perform clinical and wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness screenings.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues and offer proactive assistance with healthcare needs.
- Support the Pharmacy Manager with inventory management, financial performance analysis, and staff training.
- Maintain and update your knowledge of pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus, registers, and StoreNET.
- Process insurance claims accurately and coordinate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Build relationships with the local medical community and participate in community outreach activities.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution, or the willingness to obtain one prior to your start date.
- The willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
