About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care and support the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in pharmacy operations, patient services, and clinical tasks. This role is designed to help you develop the skills needed to perform as a future pharmacist while following state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with prescription processing, including entering, filling, and third-party tasks.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Support patient care services such as blood pressure monitoring and medication therapy management.
- Handle pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and organizing shipments.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient and drug information.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Register sales at the cash register and handle telephone inquiries that do not require a pharmacist.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
