About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy while building your clinical and retail skills. This role involves direct patient interaction, medication management, and working closely with the pharmacy manager to ensure efficient service. You will help maintain pharmacy standards and contribute to the overall health and wellness services provided to our customers.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services, including counseling patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions.
- Perform clinical and wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness.
- Handle the compounding, verification, and dispensation of prescribed medications.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial performance analysis, and staff training.
- Process insurance claims and coordinate with medical providers to resolve medication or dosage questions.
- Manage pharmacy workflow, including opening and closing duties and shift transitions.
- Engage with customers to answer questions and provide proactive assistance.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems, including Intercom Plus and StoreNET.
- Build relationships with the local medical community and participate in outreach activities.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
