About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy while gaining clinical and retail experience. You will work under the pharmacy manager to ensure efficient workflows, manage inventory, and maintain high standards of patient care. This role involves both administrative tasks and direct interaction with patients to provide healthcare services.
What you'll do#
- Consult with customers on medication usage, potential drug interactions, and preventive healthcare services.
- Perform clinical tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Deliver wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness support.
- Greet customers and assist with their questions or concerns to ensure a positive experience.
- Oversee pharmacy operations, including opening and closing duties, shift changes, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Build and maintain relationships with local medical providers and community members.
- Use pharmacy information technology systems to process prescriptions and manage inventory.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution, to be obtained prior to your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
