About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Intern Grad position based in Westminster, Maryland. You will support pharmacy operations while gaining experience in a retail setting. The role involves a mix of clinical tasks, customer service, and administrative duties to ensure the pharmacy runs effectively.
What you'll do#
- Provide consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Handle compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager with inventory, financials, and customer experience.
- Perform clinical and wellness services, including immunizations and flu shots.
- Manage pharmacy opening and closing procedures and shift changes.
- Process insurance claims and resolve payment rejections.
- Assist with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Build relationships with the local medical community and healthcare providers.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy information technology systems.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before the start date.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy in the district states within 90 days of hire.
- Certified Immunizer status or willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
