About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team in providing patient care and pharmacy services. This role involves learning pharmacy operations, adhering to regulations, and delivering customer service. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the practice of pharmacy, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services such as counseling and health screenings.
- Handle pharmacy operations, including inventory management, ordering, and maintaining department cleanliness.
- Operate cash registers and handle sales transactions.
- Manage telephone calls and assist with administrative tasks.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow quality improvement procedures.
- Adhere to the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
