About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team in daily operations while learning to provide patient care in accordance with state and federal regulations. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Lancaster, Ohio.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with prescription processing, including entry, filling, and third-party tasks.
- Help deliver patient care services such as counseling, blood pressure checks, and medication therapy management.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Manage cash register transactions and handle sales.
- Support inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the pharmacy department by keeping it clean, organized, and adequately stocked.
- Handle telephone calls and communicate with healthcare providers.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
