About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn the daily operations of a retail pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacist. You will support the pharmacy team in providing patient care while following state and federal regulations. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Riverview, Florida.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist in entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient information and drug data.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Support patient care services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings, within your state scope of practice.
- Handle inventory tasks, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Process sales on the cash register and manage telephone inquiries that do not require pharmacist intervention.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow company quality improvement procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
