About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care. This role focuses on learning pharmacy systems, processing prescriptions, and delivering service to customers. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while supporting the pharmacy team.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team members with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information and process prescriptions.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions according to standard procedures.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle cash register transactions and sales.
- Support inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
