About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern role is a full-time position based in Worcester, Massachusetts. You will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to learn the daily operations of a retail pharmacy. This role focuses on developing your skills in patient care, pharmacy systems, and customer service while adhering to state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to look up patient and drug information.
- Enter, process, fill, and dispense prescriptions.
- Engage with customers and patients to answer questions and resolve issues.
- Provide patient care services, such as medication therapy management and counseling, within your scope of practice.
- Handle telephone calls and assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Register sales on the cash register.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
