About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team. You will work under supervision to gain experience in pharmacy practice while following state and federal regulations. This role involves balancing customer service with operational tasks to ensure the pharmacy runs smoothly.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and helping resolve issues.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services, such as medication therapy management and patient counseling.
- Handle pharmacy operations including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean, orderly workspace.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient information and process prescriptions.
- Register sales at the cash register and handle telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Report any prescription errors immediately and follow all company policies, including the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
