About the role#
This is a part-time Pharmacy Intern position based in St. Charles, Illinois. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in pharmacy operations and patient care. This role involves learning company policies, procedures, and customer service standards to prepare for a career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers and help them find products or resolve questions.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient information.
- Assist pharmacists with filling and dispensing medication.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Handle cash register transactions and sales.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Answer telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's direct attention.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
