About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to learn the daily operations of a retail pharmacy. This role focuses on gaining practical experience in patient care, prescription processing, and inventory management while adhering to state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily tasks.
- Process prescriptions, including data entry, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to provide support.
- Perform patient counseling and other health services within your state scope of practice.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Handle incoming telephone calls and assist customers with locating products.
- Manage cash register sales for pharmacy-related transactions.
- Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pharmacy department.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
