About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work on-site in Canton, Mississippi. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while supporting pharmacy operations and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Deliver clinical and wellness services such as immunizations and flu shots.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial analysis, and pharmacy workflow.
- Engage with patients to answer questions about side effects, over-the-counter products, and insurance claims.
- Coordinate with medical providers and insurance companies to resolve issues and clarify prescriptions.
- Support staff training and hiring efforts while maintaining knowledge of pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus and StoreNET.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or pursuit of a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
