About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to learn pharmacy operations, patient care, and the professional standards required for your future career. This is a part-time position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and access patient information.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to provide help.
- Model customer service best practices for the team.
- Help with prescription entry, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing under pharmacist supervision.
- Support patient care services within your state scope of practice.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Handle register sales and manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and unpacking shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Manage telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
