About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Pharmacy Intern position for Summer 2027. You will work on-site in Palm Desert, California, to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacy team with daily operations and regulatory compliance.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient information and process prescriptions.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Engage with customers to answer questions and resolve issues.
- Support patient care services, including medication therapy management and blood pressure checks.
- Handle telephone calls and manage pharmacy inventory.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Register sales at the cash terminal.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and maintain knowledge of pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
- Six months of retail experience is preferred.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens is preferred.
- Strong math skills for accurate counting and measuring.

- Compensation: $18.00 to $31.00 per hour, based on experience and skills.
