About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team to provide patient care and support daily operations. This role is designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge needed to practice as a future pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Engage with customers by greeting them and offering assistance.
- Resolve customer issues and answer questions.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information and process prescriptions.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assist with patient care services within the state scope of practice.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and unpacking shipments.
- Keep the pharmacy department clean, organized, and stocked.
- Process sales on the cash register.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training programs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
