About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, patient care, and customer service while adhering to state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Enter, process, fill, and dispense prescriptions using pharmacy systems.
- Assist pharmacists in delivering patient care and services within the state scope of practice.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Handle pharmacy-related telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Register sales on the cash register.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
