About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern in Ellenton, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This position focuses on learning pharmacy operations, patient care, and customer service standards while supporting the pharmacy team in their daily tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily operations in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient or drug information.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to provide assistance.
- Help with prescription tasks, including data entry, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings, within your state scope of practice.
- Handle pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing shipments.
- Register sales at the cash register and handle cash transactions.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Manage telephone calls that do not require the direct attention of a pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- Compensation: $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on skills, education, and experience.
