About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will work in a full-time, on-site role in Windham, Maine. You will assist the pharmacy manager with daily operations, support the pharmacy team, and provide direct care to customers. This position is focused on both clinical services and retail pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Provide consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Offer preventive healthcare services, including immunizations and flu shots.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with workflow, staff training, coaching, and hiring.
- Collaborate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions and resolve medication questions.
- Process insurance claims and resolve related customer issues.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems and retail operations to support the team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or pursuit of a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a certified immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
