About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, patient care, and inventory management while learning to follow state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with processing prescriptions and managing patient information in pharmacy systems.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to provide support.
- Help deliver patient care services within the state scope of practice, such as medication therapy management.
- Handle cash register transactions and sales.
- Manage telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Support inventory tasks including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Keep the pharmacy department clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Complete all required training and follow company policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
