About the role#
This co-op position supports the industrial maintenance team at the Kings Mountain manufacturing site. You will contribute to equipment uptime and reliability to help meet production goals. The role focuses on shifting from reactive repairs to proactive maintenance strategies.
What you'll do#
- Develop precision job plans for routine, complex, and proactive maintenance tasks, including time estimates and resource requirements.
- Implement systems and processes to support continuous improvement.
- Develop maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime using preventative and predictive techniques.
- Identify opportunities for equipment design changes to improve reliability and measure the impact of these changes.
- Coordinate with maintenance supervisors to prioritize and plan ad-hoc and routine maintenance activities.
- Lead root cause analysis for downtime, quality, or rate deviations using techniques like 5-why or fishbone diagrams.
- Optimize maintenance tasks to reduce costs and enhance equipment reliability.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. program for Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited school.
- Completion of at least 30 semester hours of undergraduate study before the start of the term.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
- Experience with CAD programs such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in Office 365, Power Automate, and Power BI is preferred.
- Skills in designing basic electrical circuits or experience with PLC are a plus.

- Location: Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, up to 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $17.00 - $46.00 per hour, depending on factors including academic classification and degree program.
