About the role#
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Co-op student to join our team. You will apply your academic knowledge to real-world quality and regulatory challenges in our multidisciplinary engineering and laboratory environment. This role provides hands-on experience with our ISO 17025 Quality Management System and exposure to quality practices within a regulated testing environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the management and maintenance of our ISO 17025 Quality Management System.
- Provide quality assurance support for cardiovascular testing activities and equipment development projects.
- Review test protocols and reports to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and regulatory requirements.
- Author, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and quality forms.
- Participate in internal audits, including preparation of documentation, reporting, and follow-up tasks.
- Track and support the resolution of Corrective and Preventive Actions, Non-Conformance Reports, and Engineering Change Requests.
- Perform document control activities, including document release, maintenance, and archiving.
- Communicate procedural changes and updates across Engineering, Product Development, and Operations departments.
What you'll need#
- Currently completing a post-secondary program in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline with graduation expected soon.
- Working knowledge or academic exposure to Quality Management Systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 17025:2017 requirements and experience or coursework in mechanical testing are assets.
- Enrollment in or completion of a Quality Assurance certificate program is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Location & details#
- Location: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 (January to August 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $24.99 per hour for 3rd-year students; $26.14 per hour for 4th-year students.
